TROUBLESHOOTING ASSISTANCE

If you have an equipment problem and don't want to pay the high prices of a professional service person, yet don't have the knowledge or experience to do the job yourself, but are willing to try, then our telephone troubleshooting service is what you need. Here we offer verbal help in troubleshooting and finding the problem at a fraction of what a service professional will charge. When you call we will help you work through your problem and describe each step carefully and answer all your questions Also we will advise you on safety precautions and proper procedures, it will be just like we were standing behind you and guiding your every move.

If you purchased the equipment from us and it is still in warranty there will be no charge for this service. If you didn't buy the equipment from us or it is no longer in warranty, then we only charge $1.20 per minute for our help. First off when you call you won't be helped by some one fresh out of tech. school, you will be assisted by an experienced and highly qualified veteran service person, who has over 20 years experience in the business. Secondly, you will not be charged for time spent considering the problem or any research work needed. Third, you may be asked to take some voltage measurements or perform some tests in order to help isolate the problem. If this is something that can be accomplished within a short period of time we will stay on the line. If not, you can call back at a later time and continue the troubleshooting process. There is no minimum charge per call, you are charged only for the time we help you. In order to save time and money you should have a phone near the equipment, the cover plates removed, have the make, model, and serial numbers handy, and give the equipment a good look over to familiarize yourself with the location of all the components. You should also have a volt meter capable of reading 24 volts a/c, 120 volt a/c, and 240 volts a/c. Also something to test continuity. If you have a volt-ohm meter this is ideal, they are available at places like Radio Shack for under $20. Another item good to have is a couple of insulated wires with alligator clips (called clipleads).

If you are having problems with your air conditioner where the unit's compressor and fan motor is running but does not cool you may need a set of refrigeration gauges. If you wish to get into this type of problem you may be able to purchase them at an automotive store, just make sure they have 1/4" connectors on them. We also sell gauges, too. One point I want to make, unless your licensed by the EPA you will not be able to purchase freon. Further there are specific laws governing the handling of refrigerants. All this can be discussed at the time of your call.

We are in the process of producing a video tape on general trouble shooting and maintenance. This tape will offer some valuable tips on servicing your equipment. If your interested in having one let us know.

Payment can be made by Visa or Mastercard over the phone for the charges of the phone consultation. You will be asked first for your Name, Card Number, and Expiration Date at the beginning of the call and will be told the total charge upon finishing the consultation. Should you find it necessary to make some tests or measurement and call us back you won't be charged until this is completed or we don't hear back from you for 3 days. There is no minimum charge per call, so feel free to call us back as many times as you feel necessary.
